Welcome to TIMPANI- The CUMS Instrument Hire Service

The CUMS Instrument Hire Service is the largest provider of orchestra percussion in the East of England. Built over a number of years, it combines a large amount of specialist equipment with newly-purchased instruments from top-of-the-range manufacturers such as Premier, Grover, Buffet and Selmer.

Groups use the CUMS Instrument Hire Service for many reasons. Many are attracted by our 50% discount for registered charities and our generous multiple-day hire discounts. The Hire Service is also conveniently located in West Road Concert Hall which allows us to offer flexible collection and return times. Finally, for ensembles based within Cambridge University, we offer the best maintained and highest quality instruments within the University.

This is the TIMPANI system for hiring instruments. It is a fully automated electronic system which allows you to check availability, prices and make bookings, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Booking confirmations and invoices are automatically emailed to you.
